Leopards

The leopard is the smallest of the four “big cats” and it is also the most versatile. However, leopards, which were once distributed from Siberia to South Africa, are now found in only 40-50% of their historic range as a result of over-hunting and habitat loss.

One subspecies, the Amur leopard, is now one of the rarest cats in the world, with less than 30 individuals remaining in the wild.
